Beloved,
Tomorrow we celebrate the Lord’s Supper together.
After worship we gather in the multipurpose room for our monthly fellowship meal. Please bring lots of food. Our students are also welcome to bring anything they think others would enjoy, or simply a bottle of soda or bag of chips or cookies.
All are invited to join the elders for prayer at 6 pm in the church office. Let us hear your thoughts about Redeemer and pray with us for her welfare and yours.
We will also have a brief congregational meeting after worship to approve the sale of some of our land to VDOT. This is the right of way along route 811 which they need to widen the road, and they will take
from us anyway. Our building committee has worked a great deal, exchanging the right of way for a stop light for access into the property (which would have cost us megabucks!). In the PCA matters of land need to be voted on by the congregation. We’ll ask you to approve the obvious thing to do.
An introduction to Redeemer class starts next Wed. Nov.8 from 7-9 pm at the church office. This five-week class explains our basic doctrines and serves to prepare any for membership, should you so desire.
A communicants class will start Sunday morning for children in the middle school Sunday school class, led by elder Mike Terrell. This prepares them for membership. Parents are welcome to attend.
Please bring your filled Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes to church tomorrow and next week, the only two opportunities to participate in this mercy outreach.
Your elders strongly encourage you to vote next Tuesday, and consider carefully the amendment before Virginians to protect the sanctity of marriage. Literature will be available at church to explain what the amendment will and will not do. We are not telling you how to vote, but want to help dispel misinformation about the effect of the amendment.
Pray with me for a joyful celebration of God’s mercy tomorrow as we gather.
Mike
