Teaching Elder & Pastor — Mike Sharrett
Mike came to the Lynchburg area from Texas in March, 2004, but hails as a native Virginian, having grown up in Fairfax County. After graduating from Gettysburg College (1978), Mike and Janice were married, moved to Charlottesville for graduate school at U.Va.,
and began a wonderful spiritual transformation at Trinity PCA. During his years as a career counselor at U.Va., Mike sensed a call to ministry. Following three years on staff at Trinity, the Sharrett’s moved to Philadelphia to attend Westminster Seminary (M.Div.). They returned to Trinity (1988) until 1992, when the Lord called Mike to plant a PCA church in Ft. Worth. Mike and Janice are blessed with three children: Mike, who lives in Texas, Luke, and Laura, both students at New Covenant School. Janice teaches 6th grade at NCS and enjoys reading and gardening; Mike enjoys golf, the beach, and outdoorsy stuff.
Associate Pastor & Teaching Elder — Tre Smith
Tre was born in Miami, raised in Atlanta, April was born in Atlanta, raised in Savannah. We went to Mercer University for undergrad where we met. I worked for five years after college, 3 as a social worker in Southeast GA. We went to Orland to RTS in 1991. We were married in 1987, have four kids, Bradley (18), Whitney (17), Timothy (12), Jacob (10). We have served churches since graduating from RTS in 1994, in Fredericksburg, 7 years (Associate Pastor), Waynesboro GA, 3 years (Sr. Pastor) and Danville, VA 4 years (church planter).
Ruling Elder — Dick Govers
Dick grew up in Southern California and graduated from University of California at Los Angeles in 1967. He became a Christian while in college when confronted with the claims of Christ through a Christian campus ministry. Dick and Lynne met through that ministry and were married in 1968. After 6 years in the US Nuclear Submarine Navy, they moved to Lynchburg to begin 24 years with Babcock & Wilcox and now are part-owners of a small consulting business. In all, the Govers have lived in 18 separate homes in 4 countries on three continents and moved to Lynchburg 4 times ! During that time they participated in many church ministries in more than a dozen churches. They have two grown children, Andrew, married in Brooklyn, NY, and Paula, single in San Antonio, TX. Both Dick and Lynne enjoy reading and teaching from God’s Word. Lynne enjoys gardening, quilting, knitting, and other handicrafts. Dick enjoys golf, tennis and digging holes for Lynne in the garden.

Ruling Elder — Mike Terrell
Mike and his wife Jenny have been involved in the PCA since it’s inception back in 1973. They met in high school and attended the same church. After graduating from N. C. State, Mike and Jenny married and moved to Charlotte, NC. They were founding members of Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, NC where Mike served as first a deacon and then an elder. A job transfer took them and their three children to Massachusetts for 4 1/2 years. While there, they helped plant Springfield Presbyterian Church. Moving to Lynchburg in 2003, as a result of another job transfer, Mike and Jenny were pleased to find a group of folks trying to plant another PCA church. Mike and Jenny have three children, each of who are trusting in Jesus for their salvation - Jonathan, who is married and works in Washington, DC; Laura who is currently a student at Liberty University and Ashley a student at Timberlake Christian School.
