Junior Church meets during the worship hour for children in ages 4-8. Children are invited to worship with their families, and then may leave for Junior Church prior to the sermon.
This year the children will be divided into Beginner Church (preschool) and Junior Church (grades 1-3) for the purpose of learning the Children’s Catechism. We have purchased a wonderful
curriculum that uses stories, songs, games and lots of visuals to aide the children in understanding and memorizing the questions and answers. We believe that things memorized at this age will stay with the children their entire lives. Each child will have his own Catechism book into which he will place stickers and then take home at the end of the year. Each child will get a weekly take-home paper with that week’s questions and answers. Parents are urged to review the questions with their children during the week. We can all learn together….
The Beginners will have a recitation party every 4th Sunday. We will be calling on a parent or two to hear their answers during the party. By the end of the year they will know the answers to the first 46 questions!
The Juniors will be having special events periodically through their course. By the end of the year they will have learned all 150 answers!
