Rev. Stephen and Kristine LaValley, together with their 6 children and 2 birds, are church-planting in Western Massachusetts in the city of Springfield. Stephen, after working in construction and 4 years as an Executive for the Sweet Life Corporation, followed the Lord’s calling to gospel ministry by attending first Belhaven College and then Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. An Internship was completed at Lakeland PCA in Flowood, MS and pastoral experience includes Pulpit Supply at Eppes Presbyterian Church in Eppes, AL and Assistant Pastor at West Springfield Covenant Community Church. Stephen and Kristine have been working in Springfield for 6 years, having ‘organized’ the congregation in the Summer of 2005.
Following a long search for a new church building/facility, Springfield PCA merged with another local church, which has a very new facility including a 290 person capacity sanctuary, a church office, 3 class rooms, a nursery, a future kitchen and a small ‘fellowship’ hall. They are currently fund-raising to pay off the mortgage and establish a fund for short-term building costs.
Please pray for the heavy load that Stephen carries in planting this church and the discipleship responsibilities that are associated with it. They also request prayer for their fund-raising drive.
